The Power and Purpose of Worship
Hey, what do you think about worship? Some people worship; some think about it. Where are you?
I am talking about worship leaders who play a key role in God’s kingdom. The enemy hates worshipers because they fulfill the role he lost. When people worship the devil, they close their ears because they don’t like to hear the name of Jesus being exalted. As a worship leader, I have seen many people freed from devils’ bondage during worship sessions. In some places I have seen, they fight each other. When God’s presence fills the atmosphere, the devil runs; it’s like darkness fades when light comes.
And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Colossians 2:15: By the cross, Jesus triumphed against the demons or Satan. No matter if you are praying, praising, preaching, or fasting, when you are with God, you are against Satan. It’s true that Satan hates worship. Worship is a thing that belongs only to God. And the devil tried to obtain it. As a result, he cut down on their followers. On earth, Satan confuses people and misguides them from the truth.
It is true that worship belongs to God. But when God’s people play the instruments, people are healed. Chains are broken. Captives free. How can you forget when David played the lyre (harp) to soothe Saul’s troubled spirit? 1 Samuel 16:23
In the congregation while people worship, some people are not saved; they listen to the songs, and they see that God’s people worship. But the moment comes when unsaved people are touched by the Holy Spirit. They attain freedom spiritually and physically. We can see the best example in the Bible … About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Acts 16:25
Nowadays, few people are exemplary worship leaders. Worship leaders and musicians are the people who are being trolled the most, often facing criticism and negative comments from congregants and even fellow church members during services. Most of the preachers say some words against them. You can hear them before the sermon; they will correct the worship leader, musicians, or technician. We should not forget that the people who serve in worship create the atmosphere for delivering the word of God. They make the ideal soil for God’s word.
So, it’s better to encourage each other while we are serving the same God as a team.
Blessings!
